The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides basic dental services to children aged between 2 and 18 years.
Dental services are capped at $1052 over 2 consecutive calendar years.
The 2 year cap period starts when a child or teenager first gets an eligible dental service.
The CDBS doesn’t cover orthodontic, cosmetic dental work, mouthguards or dental services provided in hospital.
Eligibility is assessed by Medicare and can change at any time depending on personal circumstances.
For further information contact Medicare.
The Child Dental Benefit Scheme covers part or the full cost of some basic dental services for eligible children if you receive certain payments from Services Australia. To check your eligibility please contact Medicare.
